Launching a food tech company from scratch

We ran product and engineering for a food tech startup from day zero through its pivot into robotics.

A food tech startup brought us in before they had a product, a team, or a clear business model. We ran product and engineering through their earliest phases and stayed embedded as the company pivoted from food delivery into autonomous robotics.

The challenge

The business needed to launch fast, build fundraising momentum, and lay a technical foundation that could absorb change. In food tech, the model almost always evolves before it stabilizes, and the physical environment adds layers that pure software products don’t face: logistics, regulation, hardware, and real kitchen operations. Building something that could grow through all of that required getting the fundamentals right from day one.

Our approach

We joined at day zero and ran product and engineering as a fully integrated part of the team, not as an external agency. That meant owning infrastructure, hiring and integrating team members, shaping internal tooling, and contributing to the culture of an organization being built from scratch. As the business pivoted from delivery to B2B robotics, we adapted alongside it, adjusting systems and rebuilding where necessary while keeping the foundation intact.

The result

The company moved from no product and no team to a funded, operational business with working products and scalable systems, having successfully navigated a fundamental shift in its business model along the way. HUBBLR carried the main product and engineering lift through every critical phase of that journey.

Why this matters to us

This is the kind of engagement we get excited about. There was no brief to follow and no existing product to maintain, just trust and the expectation that we’d act like founders inside a company that wasn’t our own. We did, and the company is still here to show for it. What we learned here about building through uncertainty shapes how we approach every early-stage partnership today.
